Good Bye 2006

Can you believe it's almost over..just a couple of hours left to 2006. Lot's happened for me this year..I had my appendix removed, completed some more classes toward's my graduate degree, went to Puerto Rico for the first time, and got engaged! Wow..I can't believe how fast it all went by. I enjoyed almost every minute.
S proposed to me in Rittenhouse Square on May 20. It was a beautiful day out and we decided to go to Rittenhouse Square to read, relax, and be outside. I had no idea that it would be the day that S proposed. We had talked about getting engaged, and looked at rings, but I didn't know exactly when it would happen. As almost any woman knows..it's hard waiting when you know something is going to happen, but you don't know if it will happen in a few weeks or months. I think that part of me was on edge every time I thought there would be a day or moment when it could potentially happen. So..we were reading on an old blanket in Rittenhouse Square enjoying the day. I think everyone knows (I guess our friends and family) that S is mr. funny guy and likes to tell funny jokes and stories..well..I was reading my book when S said he had a story to tell me. I thought..ok..here comes a funny little story about nothing (kind of like a miniture Seinfeld episode). It turned out to be the story of us and at the end he proposed. At first I didn't even know he was proposing because I didn't notice him reading this story off a piece of paper until I looked up at him..then I knew..and really started to listen more closely. Nobody knows how they are going to react until it happens to them..some people say they would cry, or feel sick to their stomachs or totally blank out..but me..I was just totally excited..and kept thinking: is this really happening to me?, Am I really this lucky?, Is it really my turn?..as it turned out it was and I couldn't have been happier. The day flew by after that. We went to the Italian festival and enjoyed the day after calling my mom and brother. That night we went to see my mom who had champagne ready for us and then went to S's family since his mom was celebrating a birthday..and announced our engagement that night to them. It took away from his mom's birthday, but everyone was happy.
So good- bye 2006...a year of more up's then down's and thanks for being so good to me..and hello to 2007 which will be the year of our wedding- another dream come true..
